Love as the Highest Law of Creation

The notion of a benevolent and all-loving Supreme Being is a major concept in almost all religious thoughts. For most human beings the idea of the Creator as an all-forgiving, indulgent Father, Who is concerned with the welfare of all His creatures, and Who showers them with love and blessings, whether or not they are deserving of such, is an extremely powerful one. For Christians in particular, this idea of Divine Love as unconditionally forgiving and unfailingly caring is a main pillar of their belief system. This idea shows itself in the traditional view of the mission of Jesus Christ, according to which He is thought to have come to the earth only to suffer and to die, in order to redeem the sins of all mankind.

However, many human beings who reflect deeply find within themselves an instinctive resistance to this view of Divine Love as unconditionally forgiving and tenderly loving. Moreover, such people are unable to reconcile the notion of an unfailingly loving and indulgent God with the suffering, privation and pain they see around them in the World. How is this contradiction to be bridged? And where can a seriously seeking human being turn to obtain a firm and clear conception of God’s Love, and its meaning and purpose in the life of man?

Through the Work In the Light of Truth the Grail Message, human beings are offered a clear understanding of the working of God’s Love in Creation. They are enabled to recognize that Love, having its origin in God Himself, is woven into the entire Creation, and thus also into the life of man, as the primary driving force of all activity. However, the Message explains that love is far greater than the paltry sentimentality we human beings have ascribed to it in our weaknesses. Love is inseparable from the sternest Justice, and has as its sole aim the eternal salvation of the human being, and not the indulgence of his whims and desires. This Love of the Creator manifests for the human being in the Laws of Creation, also called the Laws of Nature, which bring to each human being that which has created for himself through his desires, his thoughts, words and deeds. The object and intention of these Laws, however, are to uplift the human being if he strives towards obedience to them.

Through the Grail Message, the earnestly-seeking human being is afforded a clear and complete picture of the whole Creation, the awareness of the Laws that govern Creation, and therewith the true path to spiritual freedom. He is also enabled to recognize the infinite Love of the Creator which, through His Laws, offers to all human beings a path to the aspiration of all true humanity: ascent to Paradise, the eternal home of the spirit, in the radiant proximity of God.
